What is this?
A Shady Summer Day on the D & L Canal Towpath 47 miles 9 30 AM C- pace , 4 terrain rating.
Meet at the Cementon Trailhead for the Delaware & Lehigh Canal Towpath, located on Rt. 329.
Take I-78 to US 22 near Phillipsburg. Take US 22 to Penn. Rt. 145. Travel north on Rt. 145 for 7 miles to Rt. 329. Turn right on Rt. 329 and proceed down the hill towards the Lehigh River crossing. Parking is on the left before the bridge. If the small lot is packed, continue on 329 to a CVS parking lot on the left and notify the leader to wait up for you.
The ride can be shortened by meeting at the Slate Restroom trailhead in Slatington.
On this ride you will not only see the slate restroom, but you will pedal underneath the Appalachian Trail. You can meet the Chicken Lady in the park off the towpath. Lastly, we will bike over a brand new bridge (less than a year old) into Jim Thorpe where we will have our extended rest stop.
Must call leader, Dan Rappoport, 609 924 9417 and 609 933 6258
This is a joint ride with CJBC and WJW.
