Ride Classifications

The following ride classifications and terrain ratings are used on the Event Calendar to provide potential ride attendees with an idea of what to expect on a particular ride.

An Example ride listing:

TUESDAY, JAN 31
B+, 2/3, 35, (Ride Name) 10:00 AM  (Leader Name)

  • B+ indicates a steady 14-15 mph pace

    • Note the speed may vary during ride, depending on terrain.

  • 2/3 means over rolling to large hills

  • 35 indicates that the ride will cover approximately 35 miles

  • The ride starts at 10:00 AM, sharp

Pace Ratings

  • Speed indicates average upon completion of ride.

  • Speed may vary during the ride, depending on terrain.

Terrain Ratings

  1. Hill Mania (multiple long and/or steep climbs)

  2. Large Hills (such as Hillcrest Road in Warren or Johnston Drive in Watchung)

  3. Rolling Hills (such as Valley Road in Warren Township)

  4. Flat (except for the occasional overpass)


🍂 Welcome to the Autumn Riding Season!

As summer begins to wind down, autumn brings some of the best riding of the year. Cooler temperatures, changing leaves, crisp mornings, and beautiful scenery make this a perfect time to get out and enjoy the roads and trails of Central Jersey.

Our fall calendar is filled with great rides, new routes, special events, and opportunities to ride with old friends and meet new ones. Whether you ride for fitness, friendship, adventure, or simply the enjoyment of being on two wheels, CJBC has something for everyone.

As we head into the new season, I encourage everyone to get out and ride, support our ride leaders, welcome new members, and continue helping us make every CJBC ride safe, friendly, and enjoyable.
